Irrigation research at Squire Estate (Year 3)
Brief:Three different irrigation treatments (100, 300 and 500 L/vine) were applied to Sauvignon Blanc grapes at the Squire Estate vineyard during the 2005/06 season. No significant differences were found in yield or fruit quality. This corresponded with our findings of the previous three seasons. Only that part of the trial where irrigation failed entirely, some differences were noted in that these vines had much smaller berry sizes but a similar number of bunches. No further analysis was done on these berries.
